The general salary, educational qualification and age limit for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher are as follows:
​Salary (Scale of Pay)
The pay scale will vary depending on the subject:
HSST (Full Time): ₹55,200 – 1,15,300/-
HSST (Junior): ₹45,600 – 95,600/-
Educational Qualification
The following qualifications are essential to apply for these posts:
​Master’s Degree (Post Graduation): PG degree in the relevant subject with not less than 50% marks.
​B.Ed: B.Ed degree obtained in the relevant subject. (In the absence of B.Ed holders, others will be considered, but B.Ed must be obtained within 5 years of appointment).
​SET: Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by the Government of Kerala.
​Relaxations: NET, SLET, M.Phil, Ph.D or M.Ed holders will be given relaxation in the SET examination.
​Age Limit
​Age Limit: 20 to 40 years.
​Date of Birth: Candidates should have been born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2005 (both dates inclusive).
Relaxations: SC/ST and OBC candidates will be eligible for the upper age limit relaxation as per the law.
The mode of application is as follows:
One Time Registration: Candidates can apply only after registering through the official website of Kerala Public Service Commission www.keralapsc.gov.in under ‘One Time Registration’.

Photo: The photo uploaded in the application should be taken after 31.12.2014. The name of the candidate and the date of taking the photo should be clearly mentioned below the photo. Once uploaded, the photo will be valid for 10 years.
