erala Fisheries Recruitment 2026: Temporary recruitment is being made for 11 Lifeguard posts and a Harbor Based Sea Rescue Squad on daily wage basis under the Fisheries Department in Thiruvananthapuram district. Registered fishermen and those who have completed the necessary training can apply. Selection is through direct interview. The interview will be held on August 21 at the office of the Assistant Director, Vizhinjam Fisheries Station. Details including age limit, qualification, required documents, preferences, and interview time are known.

11 lifeguards and a Harbor Based Sea Rescue Squad are being temporarily appointed on daily wage basis for the Marine Ambulance, Rescue Boats, and Rescue Boats to be set up by the Fisheries Department in Thiruvananthapuram district after the trawling ban period.

Applicants should be registered fishermen and have completed training at the Goa National Institute of Water Sports. They must be between the ages of 20 and 60 and be able to swim in the sea in any adverse weather conditions…

Preference will be given to those who have previous experience in sea rescue operations, those who have worked as a sea rescue squad, lifeguard, residents of Thiruvananthapuram district, those who participated in the 2018 flood rescue operation, those who have higher educational qualifications and are proficient in operating state-of-the-art sea rescue equipment.

Those selected as Harbor Based Sea Rescue Squads should be willing to perform all the tasks assigned by the superior in connection with the operation of the Harbor Management Society. Those selected should be willing to collect the statistics of the vessels and workers going to sea and the statistics of the fish caught in each vessel at any time as determined by the superior. They should be willing to work in all the harbors of the district and make their own vessel and engine available for rescue operations in emergencies.

Interested candidates should appear for a face-to-face interview at the office of the Assistant Director of Vizhinjam Fisheries Station on Friday, August 21 at 2 pm with their biodata, copy of identity card, Fishermen’s Welfare Fund book, documents proving qualifications and previous experience.
